To absolutely no one\'s surprise, advanced orders for Apple\'s 4G iPhone were staggering. So much so, in fact, that the online stores for both Apple and AT&T crashed from the voluminous traffic.
Both Apple and AT&T\'s online sites were inundated to the point of failure as more than 600,000 iPhone 4 orders overwhelmed both companies\' servers. As Enterprise Mobile Today discovered, the unprecedented demand for Apple\'s latest must-have device resulted in a complete sellout of the company\'s first run.
Apple issued a statement on the problems, saying, \"It was the largest number of preorders Apple has ever taken in a single day and was far higher than we anticipated, resulting in many order and approval system malfunctions.
