iPhone 4 Preorders Crash Apple, AT&T Sites
To absolutely no one\'s surprise, advanced orders for Apple\'s 4G iPhone were staggering. So much so, in fact, that the online stores for both Apple and AT&T crashed from the voluminous traffic.

Both Apple and AT&T\'s online sites were inundated to the point of failure as more than 600,000 iPhone 4 orders overwhelmed both companies\' servers. As Enterprise Mobile Today discovered, the unprecedented demand for Apple\'s latest must-have device resulted in a complete sellout of the company\'s first run.

Apple issued a statement on the problems, saying, \"It was the largest number of preorders Apple has ever taken in a single day and was far higher than we anticipated, resulting in many order and approval system malfunctions. Many customers were turned away or abandoned the process in frustration.\" \"We apologize to everyone who encountered difficulties, and hope that they will try again or visit an Apple or carrier store once the iPhone 4 is in stock.\"
